Cultivating innovation, achievement, and passion through a learner-centered environment. GO WILDCATS!

Greetings Wildcat fans, parents and supporters!

With the second semester under way, we want to thank everyone for your continued support of our students, teachers, and school as we collectively strive to provide optimal opportunities for learning each day.

The Board of Education recently recognized Fruita Monument for earning the highest rating (Performance) from the Colorado Department of Education.  Official ratings are based on student outcomes on key performance indicators: Academic Achievement, Academic Growth, and Postsecondary & Workforce Readiness. Districts and schools earn points for each key indicator, and then points are combined to determine the overall percentage of points earned. Over the years, FMHS has developed a culture of high expectations that has resulted in a graduation rate (90.2%) that exceeds both the state (82.3%) and district (80.3%) rates. This is a testament to the dedication of our students, parents and staff. Our goal is for every student to find their passion that leads them to a successful career pathway.  The American Diploma Project research concludes that, “The needs of the workplace are increasingly indistinguishable from the knowledge and skills needed for college and career success.”  So whether a student chooses to pursue a job in the workforce after high school graduation, or chooses to go on to higher education, it is critical that all our students develop the 21st Century knowledge and skills that will lead to success as adults.  Registration for the 2023-24 school year is just around the corner! Please guide your student to choose a rigorous schedule. Additional information on scheduling will be provided in February.

D51F Outstanding School Award:
Congratulations parents, students and staff on FMHS being awarded the “2023 Outstanding School for Student Academic Growth Award” by the D51 Foundation (D51F).  This award is based upon results from the 2022 SAT. With an average composite score of 992, our students exceeded both the state (986) and district (960) average.  This is a testament to our community, student body and staff's dedication to academic excellence in the face of adversity. FMHS will be recognized at the D51 White Iced Celebration.  D51F hosts this event to raise money to support our schools, prioritizing funding for professional learning for D51 staff and technology for students.  Go to to purchase tickets.
